What is meant by the pillars of faith in Islam?

The pillars of faith in the Islamic religion mean things that must be believed, understood and obeyed.

There are 6 pillars of faith in the Islamic religion, including:
1. Faith in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala
2. Faith in God’s angels.
3. Faith in Allah’s Books.
4. Faith in Allah’s Messengers.
5. Faith in the Last Day.
6. Faith in Qada and Qadar.

The meaning and explanation of each pillar of faith in Islam:

1. Faith in Allah
Means:
Believing wholeheartedly that Allah is the one and only God, Creator of the universe and everything in it.
Example:
Believing that only Allah deserves to be worshipped and obeying His commands, and believing in His oneness.

2. Faith in God’s Angels
Means:
Believe that Allah has created angels with specific tasks.
Example:
Believe in the existence of the angel Gabriel as the bearer of revelation, the angel Izrail who takes lives, and other angels.

3. Faith in Allah’s Books
Means:
Believe that Allah sent down the holy books to His apostles.
Example:
Believe that the Qur’an is the word of Allah revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, apart from the Torah, Zabur and Gospel.

4. Faith in Allah’s Messengers
Means:
Believe that Allah sent prophets and apostles to convey His message.
Example:
Believe in 25 prophets and apostles who were sent to invite people to worship Allah, including the Prophet Muhammad SAW as the last apostle.

5. Belief in the Last Day
Means:
Believing in the coming of the Day of Judgment, when the entire universe will be destroyed and all creatures will be resurrected to be held accountable for their deeds.
Example:
Believing in the existence of heaven and hell as a reward for human deeds, thus encouraging increased worship.

6. Belief in Qada and Qadar
Means:
Believing that Allah has determined and predetermined everything, both what has happened and what will come, known as destiny.
Example:
Being trustful, patient in trials, and not arrogant when achieving success, because everything has been determined by Allah.
